Hi there, my name is Nate Roten. I am the CEO of 12stone Press, published author of 5 books, copywriter, and lover of the written word (and coffee).

Before I go into my past and credentials, can I make a quick comment?

There are a precious few things in life that are considered as no-brainers, things which take no effort to say yes to.

More on that in just a moment.

I can only assume you are reading this right now because you are searching for a competent writer to tackle your marketing needs, whether they be for your website, case studies, white papers, blog, auto-responder emails, monthly newsletters, direct mailers, etc…

The normal assumption is that hiring a freelance writer will be an additional cost to your bottom line with little return. You pay for a service to be completed: words on a page that promote you, your company, and your products/services. End of story.

If we are honest with ourselves, at first glance this seems like an un-recoupable cost everyone must pay to set up shop and getting your name out there. That, or you simply do it yourself.

But, what if I told you there was much more to this relationship than a simple transaction?

What if you could spend $1 and make $10? Would that be worthwhile?

What about spending $500 to make $3,000 or investing $2,000 to reap $10,000?

Remember my question about a no-brainer answer?

That is what a relationship with a good copywriter can do for your business because a skilled copywriter crafts a message in a way that is persuasive and compels your customer to take action (that is profitable for you).

That means, if the campaign is designed correctly, there should be a positive ROI (return on investment) every time.

So, instead of looking at my services as a lost expenditure, think of them as the peanut butter to your jelly, the ice cream to your brownie, or the bacon to your burger (yes, I love food and most of my metaphors will be about that).

If I am not increasing your revenue beyond what you spend with me, then I am not doing my job correctly.

Bottom line: the relationship I have with my clients is a win-win, symbiotic relationship where you make money and I get to continue doing what I love.

That, my friend, is pretty sweet.

Now, with that said, let me introduce myself properly so you can decide if we are a good match.

My name is Nate Roten and I love projects. From construction to writing to web design, I have a passion to create and form new things that benefit others.

I grew up working with my hands. In college, I majored in Construction Tech and went on to establish my own construction company, Capstone Builders, shortly after graduating. I was a general contractor for 7 years until the economy crash claimed my business. I know the building industry well and have an unhealthy love for tools. I am obsessed with being prepared for any occasion, so I keep up with all the latest gadgets, tools and industry add-ons.

During that time, I also starting writing. My first non-fiction book, Embark, was picked up by Comfort Publishing and printed in 2011. Since that time, I have also written 4 fiction books in an action/adventure series called AEGIS, and I studied how to promote my writing with unbridled fervor. In a small window of 1 year, I managed to grow my email list from 93 subscribers to over 2,400 with an engagement rate of over 50% (that is pretty good if you were wondering), all while holding down a full-time job and cranking out more books.

I also have management experience with Samaritan’s Purse and am well acquainted with budgeting, risk assessments, and outreach. In essence, I know all the different elements that battle for your attention on any given day.

Now, I have consolidated all of my experience and knowledge into 12stone Press, your one-stop-shop for all your copywriting and publishing needs.

I also love coffee and tea. I am a passionate coinsure of both. That’s fairly irrelevant unless you want me to write for your coffee/tea biz, but true, nonetheless.

Anyway, now that you know a bit about me, let’s address the bottom line. I know that you could hire anyone to write things for you. There is a plethora of writers out there that know how to put words on a page.

What I hope you have understood, however, is that you need more than just words on a page. If you create marketing content that only informs your customer about who you are and what you do, you have already failed.

What will set you apart from the pack is your ability to give your customer exactly what they want.

What is that?

They want to know that you will do what you say you will do. They want to know that your product or service will solve their issues. They want to know you will remedy their pain, enhance their lives, and have confidence in their choice to do business with you.

It is an emotional decision, and thus will not be made by information alone.

That is where I can be a clear value-add to your business. Do I have experience and expertise in the construction industry?

But, just as important, I know how to tell a story that gets the reader emotionally involved. Combine those two elements with the ability to write persuasively, and you have a recipe for success.

That is why case studies and email campaigns are so powerful and profitable… because they tell a story that puts your customer in the shoes of an already-satisfied client.

You make them feel successful and cared for, even before they commit to you, so you have effectively eradicated the risk of doing business.

Does that sound like something that can benefit you?

Great! I can’t wait to hear from you.
